Hershel has over 20 years as an entrepreneur and oversees the Southwest Division for Aplos, a digital end-to-end comprehensive healthcare solution.

Mr. Head’s diverse professional background includes a successful career in Private Equity and M&A afforded him the ability to transition as a benefit consultant and build his own portfolio of best-in-class product partners for self-funded healthcare groups on a national level and he’s recognized as one of the industry’s top benefit consultants based on his ability to custom design benefit plans to meet each client’s specific need, while increasing profits.

Hershel joined Aplos in 2022 after serving as Managing Partner at Business Foundry, a boutique consulting firm in Dallas TX for 15 years, and Sr. Vice President at Free Market Administrators TPA. While having various roles over the years with Business Foundry, Hershel contracted and served as National Sales Manager for Careington International, the nation’s second largest Discount Medical Plan Organization from 2012 to 2016, overseeing one of the largest employee benefits firms in the country serving over 12 million members.

In 2017 Hershel stepped away from executive management but remained at Business Foundry to return to his main passion—consulting with his clients. In addition to working directly with employers of all sizes, as Managing Partner of the firm, he enjoys mentoring younger industry professionals committed to the Art of Negotiating.

Hershel is a member and received his appointment in 2024 to serve on the Board of Directors for the Health and Voluntary Benefits Association.
